As an adult, there are things that I just hate to do; two of which I have to do on this Saturday.  One is figure out what to have for dinner.  This is a daily/weekly issue.  Second is writing this newsletter.  I’m not an outgoing person.  I am not a positive, half full glass type of gal.  If you say different then you are either a really close friend or I’ve mastered my acting skills over the years.  The majority of you are probably in the second category.  I sat back this morning and realized we are hitting our 16th anniversary in a few month.  You don’t want to know my thoughts on the future.  I don’t want to think about the future.  So there fore it makes it even harder to write a newsletter.

To answer the first it’s going to be lamb chops I found in the freezer when I was defrosting and my vegetable meatball soup (I forgot the meatballs though. Sigh) for the week and grubhub tonight even though I’m not sure where at 220pm I’m ordering from.

To answer the second.  Does anyone have any really good lotto numbers?

Quitling 101 will include a new session of 101 March 22nd.  We are pretty sure it’s full once we work our way through the list of people who want to take the class.  However, if you are interested or know someone who is interested please call the store and be put on the waiting list. Possible next session after that will be early May.  Not sure the date yet.  I’ll keep you informed.

Quilting 201 makes a return at the end of May.  If you are interested in the 201 class please call the store and be put on a waiting list.  I am pretty sure this Thursday night class will be full, but if you are interested in another session please let me know.  It’s tough doing any evening classes so I will not be sure if I can get another one in this summer or not.

Classes/Events:

Charity Project 2025—Dress A Girl Around the World

In 2025 we are continuing our charitable effort with Dress A Girl Around the World (Hope 4 Women International non-profit).  This organization provides dresses to girls around the world suffering from poverty, disease, and low self-worth.  Staff and Customers make dresses to support this organization.  We will supply the instructions and assistance in making these simple dresses to make a girl feel special and loved.  They can be worked on at our Open Sews ($5 fee waived) or at home.  A 10% discount on fabric purchased specifically for these dresses.   We are pleased to tell you that last week sixteen more dresses were picked up!  Thank you and keep them coming!

Kathy's Korner 2025

We are going to do things a little differently in 2025.   Instead of having a specific monthly project, we will have an Open Sew for $5.00 per session. You can come in and work on a project of your choice or complete an unfinished project.   Kathy will be there to help you (to the best of her ability) if needed.    Occasionally, there will be a featured project during the month which will be priced accordingly.  It is helpful to call in advance so that we know you are coming.  Please pay attention to the dates that are listed below and on the calendar.  We may adjust dates as needed but for January we are loaded with dates for you to sew!  Start your own group of ladies on a certain day that is listed and join the fun!  Kathy’s Korner Open Sews are replacing/enhancing our sit n sews!  Just a small change!

Wednesdays from 10:30 to 5

Yarn Time!

This month we will be having 5 sessions of Yarn Time We will be charging $5.00 a session whether you are doing the project of the month or just your own stuff.  If you come to all you get the final session free!  As always our Yarn times are hosted by Emily Klaczak.   Spread the word that it’s a great time to come in and work on your knitting and crochet and socialize with like mind artists!  If you know anyone ho wants to learn have them come talk to Emily during one of these times and see what can be set up for lessons!   All times are from  Noon to 3pm unless specified in this section. For specific dates please look at the calendar!

April Yarn Time — Knitted Market Bag

This knitted bag is very study and can hold a lot of groceries — or books, or yarn!  I’s also a fun way to use those variegated cotton yarns.

Supplies:
3 balls variegated cotton yarn (Sugar and Cream or similar)
2 balls solid color cotton yarn to match
Size 7 knitting needles, long straight needles or circulars
Yarn needle

Note: if you are buying Sugar and Cream at Michaels, I’m told that theirs have less yardage than that brand sold at other stores, you may want to buy extra — and save your receipt if you don’t need it! .
